The Ask,
and The Result.

I was lucky to lead the design for The Arts Council for Long Beach when they needed a printed piece that would thank their hundreds of donors in a creative way and celebrate the $13 million they’ve contributed to local artists across Southern California. They wanted something more personal and creative than a standard report. Something that truly felt like a reflection of the impact their support has made.

The result was a yearbook-style piece with a handmade twist. We leaned into texture and expression, using halftone patterns, ripped paper, paint sprays, and iridescent vinyl covers to bring the feeling of real art into the design. It was printed in a run of over 250 copies, gifted at the organization’s end-of-year event, and later mailed and shared among donors and artists.

It was mailed out to donors and artists, posted on social media, and used as a visual centerpiece for future fundraising conversations. The feedback was incredibly positive. People felt seen, celebrated, and emotionally connected to the work. For many donors, it was the first time they were able to see the full scope of their impact in one place.

This project helped deepen the relationship between the Arts Council and its community and gave their supporters something they were proud to share and hold onto.
